Certified organic.
Toasty, creamy, thick nose that reminds me of crumpets. Rich, sumptuous, glowing with polished-gold satisfaction and warmth. Saffron and roasted hazelnuts and yuzu and grapefruit-soused chalkiness. Texture and flavour dancing tango across the tongue. The extraordinarily unique tamarind-and-chalk-like flavour of baobab fruit is so evident here – not something you’d expect to find on a wine 12,000 km away from the nearest baobab tree. Perhaps it’s that intersection of earth and sky, sun and root, acid and fruit. Long and deep, fills the mouth the way an orchestra playing to crescendo fills your ears, and brain, and bones. Orange and orange peel, gravel and white stones, spice and clotted cream. This is a wine that wants to give generously but not without borders.
